Douglas Homes was founded in 1989 by Doug Musak who is the current Owner and President of the company. He possesses some of the best credentials in the industry, including:

- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (University of Calgary)
- Civil Engineering Diploma (SAIT)
- Professional Site Management Superintendent Designation (Professional Home Builder's Institute of Alberta)
- Interprovincial Journeyman Carpentry Ticket
- Over 20 years of construction experience

Doug has extensive field experience and has worked as a framer, roofer, cribber, concrete layer, drywaller, and finisher. Doug takes a "hands on" approach to the design and construction of each home; the result is rigid quality control.
